O Γεώργιος Κ Αναγνωστόπουλος γεννήθηκε στην Αθήνα στις 19/3/1970. Αποφοίτησε το 1987 από το Πρότυπο Λύκειο Αναβρύτων και το 1993 πήρε με ‘άριστα’ το πτυχίο της ιατρικής από την Ιατρική Σχολή του Εθνικού και Καποδιστριακού Πανεπιστημίου Αθηνών. Αφού εξέτισε την στρατιωτική του θητεία στο Πολεμικό Ναυτικό και το αγροτικό του στο άγονο περιφερικό ιατρείο της νήσου Ίου, ειδικεύθηκε στην Γαστρεντερολογία στο 251 Γενικό Νοσοκομείο της Αεροπoρίας. Το 2002 έλαβε υποτροφία από την Ελληνική Γαστρεντερολογική Εταιρεία και μετεκπαιδεύθηκε στα Wolfson Digestive Diseases Centre, University of Nottingham UK ως Advanced Endoscopy Research Fellow και Endoscopy department, University of Mainz, Germany στις προηγμένες μικροενδοσκοπικές διαγνωστικές και θεραπευτικές τεχνικές [μεγεθυντική ενδοσκόπηση, χρωμοενδοσκόπηση, Νarrow Band Imaging, confocal endomicroscopy, autofluorescence endoscopy, ενδοσκοπική βλεννογονεκτομή, φωτοδυναμική θεραπεία σε οισοφάγο Barrett’s]. Χρησιμοποιεί την μέθοδο της υψηλής ευκρίνειας μεγεθυντικής χρωμοενδοσκόπησης που είναι ουσιαστικά επανάσταση στην πρόληψη, έγκαιρη διάγνωση και θεραπεία των προκαρκινικών καταστάσεων και του πρώιμου καρκίνου στο πεπτικό.

Στην Ελλάδα εργάζεται στον ιδιωτικό τομέα από το 2007 ενώ παράλληλα συνεχίζει το ερευνητικό και κλινικό του έργο. Aπό το 2011 είναι Section Editor στο επίσημο περιοδικό της Ελληνικής Γαστρεντερολογικής Εταιρείας [Αnnals of Gastroenterology], και έχει εκλεγεί μέλος του Ενδοσκοπικού τμήματος της Γαστρεντερολογικής εταιρείας.

Kύρια ενδιαφέροντα του είναι η παρακολούθηση των ασθενών με οισοφάγο Barrett’s και ελκώδη κολίτιδα καθώς και η ενδοσκοπική μελέτη ασθενών με προκαρκινικές αλλοιώσεις στο πεπτικό [δυσπλασία]. Στη θεραπευτική ενδοσκόπηση κύριο ενδιαφέρον του είναι οι σύνθετες πολυποδεκτομές επίπεδων πολυπόδων [ενδοσκοπική βλεννογονεκτομή] και η καταστροφή του επιθηλίου του οισοφάγου Barrett με radiofrequency ablation [HALO].

Είναι ομιλητής σε πολλά ελληνικά και διεθνή συνέδρια ενώ έχει επιδείξει ζωντανά τις προηγμένες ενδοσκοπικές αυτές τεχνικές σε ενδοσκοπικά σεμινάρια τόσο στην Ελλάδα όσο και στο εξωτερικό. Μεγάλος αριθμός των εργασιών του είναι δημοσιευμένες σε έγκριτα peer-reviewed ιατρικά περιοδικά στο εξωτερικό, ενώ έχει περισσότερες από 100 δημοσιεύσεις σε ελληνικά και ξένα συνέδρια. Αρθρογραφεί συχνά στον ελληνικό τύπο.

GASTROENTEROLOGY AND GENERAL MEDICINE EXPERIENCE IN GREECE

Clinical Work: I have been trained in Gastroenterology in a busy unit in the 251 Hellenic Air Force and Veterans General Hospital (Consultant Colonel Dr D. Arvanitidis), which serves a population of about 250,000 people. I was a Registrar for 4 years in the hospital taking care of the inpatients in the Gastroenterology ward, and managing emergency gastroenterology-related admissions. I was also working in the gastroenterology and hepatology outpatient department of my unit twice a week with special interest

· on the outpatient follow-up of HCV and HBV patients receiving antiviral treatment, and have performed more than 50 percutaneous liver biopsies.

· on the treatment and follow up of patients with Inflammatory Bowel Disease

During my training I was participating in the Gastrointestinal Rota of the Hospital for Upper GI bleeding , and was also participating in the on-call rota which was 1 every 3 days. I was organising the journal club of my unit with case presentations and literature review.

I was also participating in the Multihospital journal club of Athens which is organised yearly and consists of lectures and case presentations from SpRs from Greek hospitals.

During my training I performed more than 2500 endoscopic procedures in total including, apart from diagnostic upper and lower GI endoscopies, placement of Percutaneous Endoscopic Gastrostomies, stricture dilatation, polypectomies, haemostatic procedures in both upper/lower GI, foreign body removal, and intraoperative endoscopy.

As an SHO I worked two years in the Internal Medicine Departments of the Naval and Veterans General Hospital of Athens (Consultant Dr D. Kotilis), and “Elpis” General Hospital of Athens (Consultant Dr P. Skliros) dealing with multispeciality patients and participating in the ward-round, outpatient and emergency Department. I also worked as the only rural general doctor on Ios island for two years serving a population of 2,000 people on winter and about 60,000 people during summertime.

Teaching: During my Internal Medicine appointments I was involved in the teaching of Physical Examination in students of the Medical School. During my Gastroenterology appointment, I was involved in the teaching of acute Gastroenterology in Military doctors and was also giving often lectures to the Military Nursing stuff of the hospital.

Research: During my appointment as a Gastroenterology Registar I was involved in the Research activities of the Department and was the lead investigator in the 3 clinical trials which were conducted and the results have already been published in peer-reviewed journals and presented in international congresses. Since March 2003 I have been working on my PhD research project in the University of Ioannina, Medical School. We have performed an immunohistochemical analysis of the carcinogenesis pathway in human stomach, detecting several proteins regulating apoptosis and cell proliferation in gastric biopsies samples of patients with atrophic gastritis, enteric metaplasia, gastric dysplasia and gastric adenocarcinoma (cyclin D1, cyclin E, cyclin D3, bax, bcl-2, caspase-8, caspase-9, ki-67, p27/kip1, p53). The experimental part of the project has finished and I am at the moment writing up my thesis. The project involves 200 patients and is supervised by:

1) N. Agnantis MD, PhD. Professor of Pathology, University of Ioannina Medical School and

2) E. Tsianos MD, PhD. Professor of Gatroenterology, University of Ioannina, Medical School.

General: Besides my clinical skills, I developed my communication and interpersonal skills. I have good working relationships with my colleagues and I also have the ability to communicate effectively with patients and their relatives. I have also developed my IT skills and I can comfortably use Word, Excel and Powerpoint. I can also access the major on-line medical databases and I daily use e-mail and the Internet.

CCST EXAMS

On February 2004 I passed the oral, written and endoscopic CCST Greek exams, and since April 2004 I am a specialist Gastroenterologist in Greece. Since 2010 I am also eligible for the European diploma of Gastroentrology.

Research: I was participating with Dr Krish Ragunath, and Professor Kenshi Yao, Fukuoka, University Hospital, in a research programme focussing on advanced endoscopic imaging, using novel optical techniques. This included, chromoendoscopy, magnification endoscopy, high resolution / high definition endoscopy, Autofluoresence endoscopy and Narrow Band Imaging. A clinical research programme was established to conduct multi-centre trials with Academic Medical Centre, Amsterdam and Mayo Clinic, USA. We also established collaboration with Dr Steve Morgan, Dept. of Engineering and Electronics to develop a fibre based Endoscopic Hyperspectral Imaging to detect early cancer changes in the gut mucosa. We were collaborating with Prof Sue Watson in the department of pre-clinical oncology to investigate the role of Gastrin and other biomarkers in Barrett’s oesophagus.

Teaching: I was regularly teaching (clinical bed side and lecture) medical students attached to our unit. I gave lectures to the endoscopy users group meeting which has been initiated and organised by Dr Ragunath to discuss endoscopy related literature and training.

Academic and Scholarly activity: Other than research and teaching, I regularly participated in the weekly journal clubs, clinical meetings including X-ray, histopathology and cancer multi-disciplinary team meetings. Reviewing manuscripts for journals is particularly interesting and I regularly review for Digestive Diseases & Sciences, Clinical Gastroenterology and Hepatology, and World Journal of Surgical Oncology on endoscopy related topics and luminal gastroenterology.

Clinical work: My commitments to the post involved 4 clinical sessions directly involving patient care (4 endoscopy, 1 clinic, on call rota for emergency endoscopy). I perform a full range of diagnostic and therapeutic GI endoscopy procedures including gastroscopy, colonoscopy, and I have been trained in ERCP. I also participated in the 1:8 Endoscopy bleeding rota.

Endoscopy Skills

I have independently performed over 5000 upper GI endoscopies including; oesophageal dilatation, insertion of oesophageal metal stents, variceal injection / banding / haemoclip / thermal ablation of bleeding gastric / duodenal ulcer and percutaneous endoscopic gastrostomy (PEG) procedures.

I have independently performed over 6000 colonoscopies including hot biopsy and snare polypectomies, EMR, colonic stent placement

I have been trained and currently perform radiofrequency ablation of Barrett’s epithelium with the HALO system [Barrx]

Intragastric balloon placement for morbid obesity

I have performed over 400 diagnostic and therapeutic ERCPs.

Additional (advanced) Endoscopy skills

High resolution magnification, chromoendoscopy, Narrow Band Imaging and confocal endomicroscopy : These are my major area of interest and have expertise in this new exciting technology to image the GI tract.

Endoscopic thermal treatment: I am trained in the principles and practice of Argon Plasma Coagulation.

GI luminal stenting: I have good experience in oesophageal/gastric outlet / duodenal/colonic stent insertion.

Endoclip application: I am trained in the use of endoscopic metal clip application for haemostasis and closure of perforation in the GI tract.

Therapeutic ERCP: I have been trained in biliary therapeutic procedures including sphincterotomy, stone extraction, plastic and metal biliary stent insertion. I have limited experience in Sphincter of Oddi manometry, pancreatic endotherapy, endoscopic pseudo-cyst drainage and endoscopic ampullectomy for ampullary tumours.

Endoscopic Mucosal Resection (EMR): I have gained extensive knowledge of the technique, principles and practice of EMR with some experience in oesophago-colonic EMR.

Γεννήθηκα και μεγάλωσα στην Αθήνα, αποφοίτησα από το Βαρβάκειο και κατόπιν πανελλαδικών εξετάσεων άρχισα τη φοίτηση μου στη Στρατιωτική Ιατρική (Στρατιωτική Σχολή Αξιωματικών Σωμάτων) στο Αριστοτέλειο Πανεπιστήμιο Θεσσαλονίκης το 1990.

Αποφοίτησα από την ιατρική τον Ιούλιο του 1996 με βαθμό λίαν καλώς (8) και ορκίστηκα αξιωματικός του Πολεμικού Ναυτικού το Σεπτέμβριο του ίδιου έτους.

Ακολούθησε εκπαίδευση στα επείγοντα περιστατικά και σε θέματα ναυτικής και υπερβαρικής ιατρικής στο Ναυτικό Νοσοκομείο Αθηνών για έ να έτος.

Το Σεπτέμβριο του 1997 ανέλαβα καθήκοντα Αξιωματικού Ιατρού στη φρεγάτα ΛΗΜΝΟΣ όπου και υπηρέτησα μέχρι τον Ιανουάριο του 1999, οπότε και ανέλαβα καθήκοντα Αξιωματικού Ιατρού στη Διοίκηση Υποβρυχίων για ένα χρόνο.

Κατόπιν άρχισα την ειδίκευση μου στην Ορθοπαιδική που περιλάμβανε 1 χρόνο στη Γενική Χειρουργική στο Ναυτικό Νοσοκομείο Κρήτης, 2 χρόνια γενική ορθοπαιδική στο Ναυτικό Νοσοκομείο Αθηνών στην Α` Ορθοπαιδική κλινική ακολουθούμενα από τρία χρόνια εκπαίδευση στη Γλασκώβη της Μ.Βρεττανίας με το βαθμό του Specialist Registrar in Orthopaedics and Trauma. Εκεί αύξησα την θεωρητική αλλά κυρίως τη χειρουργική μου εμπειρία σε θέματα τραύματος, επανορθωτικής χειρουργικής (ολικές αρθροπλαστικές γόνατος,ισχίου, ώμου), χειρουργική άνω άκρου (άκρα χείρα, αγκώνας, ώμος), χειρουργική σπονδυλικής στήλης (οσφυϊκή μοίρα), αρθροσκοπική χειρουργική γόνατος, χειρουργική ποδοκνημικής και άκρου ποδός και σε χειρουργικές επεμβάσεις παιδοορθοπαιδικής.

Έλαβα τον τίτλο του Ορθοπαιδικού Χειρουργού κατόπιν εξετάσεων τον Ιανουάριο του 2007.

Μετά την επιστροφή μου στην Ελλάδα ανέλαβα Τμηματάρχης Ορθοπαιδικού Τμήματος στο Ναυτικό Νοσοκομείο Σαλαμίνος και επιμελητής στο Ναυτικό Νοσοκομείο Αθηνών.

Προσφατά ολοκλήρωσα με επιτυχία μετεκπαίδευση στη τεχνική ILIZAROV για επιμήκυνση άκρων και διόρθωση παραμορφώσεων στο Kurgan ΡΩΣΙΑΣ (Ilizarov Mini-Fellowship Programme “Transosseous Osteosynthesis in Traumatology and Orthopaedics”)

Ο ιατρός χειρουργός Παναγιώτης Φ. Βαμβακάς κατάγεται από την Καλαμάτα. Τελείωσε το Μπενάκειο Δημοτικό Σχολείο, το 4ο Γυμνάσιο και το 2οΛύκειο Καλαμάτας με βαθμό “Άριστα”.

Είναι απόφοιτος της Ιατρικής Σχολής του Αριστοτέλειου Πανεπιστήμιου Θεσσαλονίκης και της Στρατιωτικής Σχολής Αξιωματικών Σωμάτων και στελεχώνει τις τάξεις του Πολεμικού Ναυτικού ως Στρατιωτικός Ιατρός από το 1987.

Σήμερα κατέχει την θέση του Επιμελητή της Χειρουργικής στο Ναυτικό Νοσοκομείο Αθηνών και παράλληλα ασκεί την Ιατρική ως ελευθεροεπαγγελματίας Ιατρός Χειρουργός στο ιδιωτικό του Ιατρείο στην Λεωφόρο Κηφισίας 40 (Τηλ.επ. 6932710721). Μετά την λήψη του πτυχίου ιατρικής, το 1993 και για διάστημα ενός έτους στα πλαίσια της πρακτικής κλινικής άσκησης της ιατρικής πέρασε από όλες σχεδόν τις ειδικότητες στο Ναυτικό Νοσοκομείο Αθηνών όπως καρδιολογία,παθολογία, χειρουργική, ορθοπαιδική,ουρολογία, θωρακοχειρουργική,γυναικολογία, δερματολογία, κοκ

Στα πλαίσια υπηρεσιακών υποχρεώσεων ανάλογων με την υπηρεσία υπαίθρου, το 1994 ανέλαβε ιατρός του Πολεμικού πλοίου Α/Τ Κίμων, ενός Αντιτορπιλικού με μόνιμο πλήρωμα 250 ανδρών το οποίο συμμετείχε σε ασκήσεις και πολεμικές επιχειρήσεις στον Ελληνικό θαλάσσιο χώρο και στην Μεσόγειο για ένα χρόνο.

Κατόπιν ειδικών εξετάσεων το Φεβρουάριο του 2002 έλαβε την ειδικότητα της Γενικής Χειρουργικής στην Αθήνα αφού ειδικεύθηκε

για 1 χρόνο στη Χειρουργική κλινική του Ναυτικού Νοσοκομείου Αθηνών(ΝΝΑ),

για 6 μήνες στην Ουρολογική κλινική του Ναυτικού Νοσοκομείου Αθηνών,

για 6 μήνες στην Θωρακοχειρουργική κλινική του Ναυτικού Νοσοκομείου Αθηνών,

για 8 μήνες στην Μονάδα Εντατικής Θεραπείας του ΝΝΑ και τέλος

για 4 χρόνια στην Α Χειρουργική κλινική στο Γενικό Κρατικό Νοσοκομείο Νίκαιας Πειραιά.

Το 2002 τοποθετήθηκε επικεφαλής Χειρουργός, ειδικής ιατρικής ομάδας που συνόδεψε την Ελληνική Φρεγάτα «Φ/Γ Σπέτσες» στον Περσικό κόλπο όπου και συμμετείχε σε επιχειρήσεις, ενταγμένη στην πολυεθνική δύναμη του ΝΑΤΟ υπό την αιγίδα του ΟΗΕ, στα πλαίσια του πολέμου στο Ιράκ. Στην διάρκεια δε αυτής της επιχείρησης και με αφορμή την αεροδιακομιδή Έλληνα Ναύτη επιβιβάστηκε στο αμερικανικό αεροπλανοφόρο JFK όπου και παρέμεινε επί τρεις ημέρες εν πλω στον Ινδικό Ωκεανό, και περίπου 4 μήνες στο στρατιωτικό νοσοκομείο της αμερικανικής βάσης στο Bahrain συμμετέχοντας στις εργασίες της αμερικανικής Χειρουργικής ομάδας αποκομίζοντας σημαντική εμπειρία για το πολεμικό χειρουργικό τραύμα.

Το 2004, κατόπιν ειδικών εξετάσεων απέκτησε το τίτλο του Διδάκτορα της Χειρουργικής του Πανεπιστημίου Αθηνών με βαθμό Αριστα,για την πειραματική εργασία του «Expression of Cyclin D1 and its prognostic significance in Colorectal Cancer » στην 2η Πανεπιστημιακή Χειρουργική Κλινική και το Πειραματικό Χειρουργείο και Εργαστήριοχειρουργικής έρευνας της Ιατρικής σχολής Αθηνών. Διετέλεσε Επιμελητής της Χειρουργικής Κλινικής του Ναυτικού Νοσοκομείου Σαλαμίνας και Ναυτικού Νοσοκομείου Κρήτης.

Το 2005 μεταβαίνει για διετή μετεκπαίδευση στην Πίζα, σε ένα από τα παλαιότερα πανεπιστήμια της Ιταλίας και ένα από τα αρχαιότερα πανεπιστήμια παγκοσμίως, που λειτουργεί από το 1346 και στο οποίο έχουν φοιτήσει εξέχοντες προσωπικότητες στο τομέα της ιατρικής και της επιστήμης όπως ο Gabriele Falloppio(από τους μεγαλύτερους ανατόμους και χειρουργούς του 16ου αιώνα), ο Marcello Malpighi(διάσημος ιταλός ιατρός του 17ου αιώνα γνωστός από το Malpighian tubule system), ο Galileo Galilei(διάσημος αστρονόμος, μαθηματικός,φυσικός, φιλόσοφος που έπαιξε σημαντικό ρόλο στην διαμόρφωση της επιστημονικής σκέψης του 16ου αιώνα) Andrea Vaccà Berlinghieri (διάσημος

χειρουργός του 19ου αιωνα) κ.α.

Στην Πίζα υπό την καθοδήγηση του Professor Andrea Pietrabissa (επικεφαλής του τμήματος Λαπαροσκοπικής Χειρουργικής στο Ospedale Cisanello, Pisa) και υπό την αιγίδα του πρωτοπόρου Καθηγητή χειρουργικής στην Λαπαροσκοπική Χειρουργική Sir Alfred Cuschieri συμμετείχε ενεργά στις δραστηριότητες και στα χειρουργεία της κλινικής Χειρουργικής και Μεταμοσχεύσεων του Ospedale Cisanello, Pisa ως επισκέπτης καθηγητής στην λαπαροσκοπική χειρουργική, για το ακαδημαϊκό έτος 2005-2006. ( Advanced Fellowship in General Surgery & Minimally Invasive Surgery University of Pisa, Division of Surgery and Transplantation).

Υπό την αιγίδα του διεθνώς αναγνωρισμένου στο χώρο της χειρουργικής των ενδοκρινών Professor Paolo Miccoli συμμετείχε στις εργασίες και στα χειρουργεία της κλινικής ενδοκρινικής χειρουργικής του Ospedale Cisanello, Pisa ως επισκέπτης καθηγητής στην χειρουργική των ενδοκρινών και του θυρεοειδούς αδένος για το ακαδημαϊκό έτος 2006-2007 (Advanced Fellowship in Thyroid Surgery Minimally Invasive Surgery of Thyroid University of Pisa, II Department of Surgery)

To 2010 συμμετείχε για διαστημα 2 μηνών ως επισκέπτης καθηγητής στην χειρουργική θυρεοειδούς στις εργασίες της πανεπιστημιακής κλινικής στην Πίζα όπου και πραγματοποίησε αρκετές επεμβάσεις στο θυρεοειδή και στους παραθυρεοειδείς (Fellowship in Thyroid Surgery University of Pisa, II Department of Surgery)

Κατέχει την άδεια ασκήσεως της Χειρουργικής στην Ελλάδα, Ιταλία, Μεγάλη Βρετανία (Μέλος του General medical Council,για την άσκηση της χειρουργικής σε όλες τις βαθμίδες έως και αυτόν του Διευθυντή ) και στην Ευρωπαϊκή Ένωση.

Ασχολείται στην Ελλάδα αλλά και το εξωτερικό με την άσκηση της χειρουργικής χρησιμοποιώντας κατά περίπτωση τις πιο σύγχρονες χειρουργικές τεχνικές όπως Προχωρημένη Λαπαροσκοπική Χειρουργική,την Μικροχειρουργική , την χειρουργική με Laser και με RF και την Ρομποτική Χειρουργική. Έως σήμερα έχει πραγματοποιήσει ένα μεγάλο αριθμό τόσο ανοιχτών όσο και λαπαροσκοπικών επεμβάσεων.

Από την αρχή της ιατρικής του καριέρας έως σήμερα έχει συμμετάσχει σε πλήθος από μεταπτυχιακά σεμινάρια εκπαίδευσης της Χειρουργικής και συνέδρια όπου συμμετείχε ενεργά ως ομιλητής χειρουργός.

Ο κ. Π. Βαμβακάς συμμετείχε για πρώτη φορά σε λαπαροσκοπικές επεμβάσεις στο Γενικό Κρατικό Νοσοκομείο της Νίκαιας/Πειραιά το 1995.

Έχει παρουσιάσει δεκάδες πρωτότυπες εργασίες πάνω στη γενική και στην λαπαροσκοπική χειρουργική σε πολλά διεθνή συνέδρια της Ελλάδος και του εξωτερικού.

Σε συνέδρια στην Ελλάδα έχουν βραβευθεί εργασίες της ομάδος του και σε πρόσφατο διεθνές συνέδριο Ογκολογίας Γαστρεντερικού, εργασία του απέσπασε τοπρώτο βραβείο του συνεδρίου(Best Oral Presentatio)

Το 2003 ο εκδοτικός οίκος Π.Χ.Πασχαλίδης εκδίδει στα Ελληνικά το ευρέως αναγνωρισμένο σύγγραμμα χειρουργικής Sabiston, Textbook of Surgery The biological basis of modern surgical practice /Sixteenth ed για τους φοιτητές Ιατρικής του Πανεπιστημίου Αθηνών όπου ο κ.Π.Βαμβακάς ανέλαβε την μετάφραση από την Αγγλική γλώσσα τμημάτων των τόμων Α,Β,Γ και την ιατρική επιμέλεια τμημάτων του Γ τόμου μαζί με πλειάδα γνωστών και επιφανών Ελλήνων συναδέλφων.

Ο Απόστολος Γαϊτάνης αποφοίτησε από την Ιατρική Σχολή του Πανεπιστημίου Αθηνών το 1988.

Στην συνέχεια, απέκτησε εμπειρία στη Γενική Χειρουργική σε νοσοκομεία της Μεγάλης Βρετανίας από το 1991 έως και το 1992. Από το 1993 έως και το 1997 ειδικεύτηκε στην Πλαστική Χειρουργική σε νοσοκομεία του Birmingham και του Λονδίνου της Μεγάλης Βρετανίας σε θέσεις αναγνωρισμένες από το Βασιλικό Κολέγιο Χειρουργών της Αγγλίας καθώς και από την Βρετανική Ένωση Πλαστικών Χειρουργών.

Κατά τη διάρκεια της εκπαίδευσής του, ειδικεύτηκε σε όλο το εύρος της ειδικότητας, όπως επανορθώσεις αποκολλημένων άκρων μετά από ατυχήματα, εγκαύματα, μικροχειρουργική και αισθητική χειρουργική.

Το 1998 μετά από εξετάσεις, του απονεμήθη ο τίτλος του ειδικού Πλαστικού Χειρουργού από την Ελληνική Επιτροπή Πλαστικής Χειρουργικής. Το ίδιο έτος, απέκτησε τον Ευρωπαϊκό τίτλο της Αισθητικής Πλαστικής και Επανορθωτικής Χειρουργικής στο Slough της Αγγλίας.

Ο Απόστολος Γαϊτάνης ενημερώνεται συνεχώς για τις τελευταίες εξελίξεις στην κοσμητική ιατρική και από το 1998 ασχολείται αποκλειστικά με το αισθητικό κομμάτι της Πλαστικής Χειρουργικής. Επισκέπτεται συχνά, για μεγάλα χρονικά διαστήματα, φημισμένες κλινικές σε Ιταλία, Γαλλία, Ελβετία και Η.Π.Α., όπου εκπαιδεύεται σε ό,τι πιο σύγχρονο στον τομέα της Αισθητικής Πλαστικής Χειρουργικής.

Από το 1998, ο Απόστολος Γαϊτάνης έχει το ιδιωτικό του ιατρείο στην φημισμένη Harley Street του Λονδίνου, με πελατεία από όλον τον κόσμο, ανάμεσά τους πολύ γνωστές προσωπικότητες του θεάματος και του τραγουδιού. Εμφανίζεται συχνά στο BBC, Channel 4, ή σε ενημερωτικές εκπομπές, και άρθρα του υπάρχουν σε πολύ γνωστές εφημερίδες, όπως οι Times, The Independent, Financial Times και περιοδικά όπως Vogue, Elle, Marie Claire.

O Αθανάσιος Χριστόπουλος είναι πτυχιούχος Ιατρικής από το 1988 με βαθμό πτυχίου “άριστα”. Μετά την εκπλήρωση της στρατιωτικής του θητείας (του απονεμήθηκε ο βαθμός του ανθυπιάτρου) και της «υπηρεσίας υπαίθρου», εργάστηκε στην Α’ Χειρουργική Κλινική του Τζανείου Νοσοκομείου. Oι γνώσεις του και τα ενδιαφέροντά του δεν περιορίζονται μόνο στον τομέα της Αισθητικής Χειρουργικής, αλλά καλύπτουν ευρύτερα το φάσμα της Πλαστικής και Επανορθωτικής Χειρουργικής.

Ασχολείται με την Πρωτοβάθμια ιατρική περίθαλψη ως Γενικός Ιατρός, χρησιμοποιώντας σαν όπλο θεραπείας εκτός από την κλασική φαρμακευτική Ιατρική και τον βελονισμό παράλληλα, ανάλογα με την περίπτωση πάντα με σκοπό την καλύτερη αντιμετώπιση του ασθενούς.

Πλαστική χειρουργική στα παιδιά

Η Κα Αργυροπούλου Σταυρούλα, μέλος της Ιατρικής Ομάδας της Symmetria, είναι πλαστικός χειρουργός με πολυετή πείρα στην αποκατάσταση συγγενών ανωμαλιών σε βρέφη και παιδιά. Υπήρξε για πολλά χρόνια Διευθύντρια της Κλινικής Πλαστικής & Επανορθωτικής Χειρουργικής του νοσοκομείου Παίδων Αγία Σοφία, όπου και παραμένει ως Επιστημονικός Σύμβουλος, ενώ από το 2005 και μετά συνεργάζεται με ιδιωτικά νοσοκομεία και κλινικές.
Η Κα Αργυροπούλου εξηγεί ότι οι συγγενείς ανωμαλίες διορθώνονται χειρουργικά στη βρεφική νηπιακή και προσχολική ηλικία, προκειμένου να αποφευχθούν λειτουργικά, αισθητικά και ψυχολογικά προβλήματα στα παιδιά, να μειωθεί το άγχος της συγγενούς ανωμαλίας που δημιουργείται στην οικογένεια και να επιτευχθεί η συναισθηματική αποφόρτιση των παιδιών.
Οι συνηθέστερες περιπτώσεις που αντιμετωπίζει η Κα Αργυροπούλου είναι συγγενείς ανωμαλίες κεφαλής (όπως βλεφαρόπτωση και βλεφαροφίμωση), που χειρουργούνται ήδη από τους πρώτους μήνες ζωής του βρέφους, ανωμαλίες των πτερυγίων των αυτιών, που αντιμετωπίζονται στην προσχολική ηλικία, καθώς και περιπτώσεις σχιστίας χείλους και υπερώας. Συγγενείς ανωμαλίες των άκρων (συνδακτυλίες και πολυδακτυλίες) διορθώνονται στην προσχολική ηλικία, ενώ σπίλοι, αιμαγγειώματα, εγκαύματα και τραύματα είναι οι άλλες μεγάλες ομάδες περιστατικών που καλείται να διορθώσει. Η Στρουμπινή Θεοδώρα γεννήθηκε στις Σέρρες. Είναι απόφοιτος της Νοσηλευτικής (1999) και της Ιατρικής (2005) Σχολής του Εθνικού και Καποδιστριακού Πανεπιστημίου Αθηνών. Είναι κάτοχος Μεταπτυχιακού Διπλώματος της Νοσηλευτικής Σχολής του Πανεπιστημίου Αθηνών (2001) με ειδίκευση στις «Βασικές Επιστήμες» και Διδάκτορας της Ιατρικής Σχολής του Πανεπιστημίου Αθηνών (2008) με γνωστικό αντικείμενο την Φαρμακολογία. Η εξειδίκευσή της σε μεταπτυχιακό και σε διδακτορικό επίπεδο είναι οι επιδράσεις φαρμάκων και διατροφικών συνηθειών στην παχυσαρκία. Στο επιστημονικό της έργο περιλαμβάνεται η συγγραφή επιστημονικών εργασιών, που έχουν δημοσιευτεί στον Ελληνικό και διεθνή επιστημονικό τύπο, ανακοινώσεις σε επιστημονικά, Ελληνικά και διεθνή συνέδρια, καθώς και συμμετοχή σε ερευνητικά προγράμματα.
Έχει ήδη κάνει μέρος της ειδικότητας της Εσωτερικής Παθολογίας και εργάζεται στον χώρο της Αισθητικής Ιατρικής, ασχολούμενη με εξελιγμένες, μη επεμβατικές θεραπείες αισθητικής αποκατάστασης και αντιγήρανσης.

Ειδικός Παθολόγος

O Περικλής Γιόβας είναι απόφοιτος της Ιατρικής Σχολής Αθηνών (1998) κι έχει ειδικευθεί στην Εσωτερική Παθολογία.
Τα ερευνητικά του ενδιαφέροντα εστιάζονται στην αρτηριακή υπέρταση, αντικείμενο της διδακτορικής του διατριβής, καθώς και στον αναδυόμενο χώρο του e-Health.
Ασχολείται με τις ηλεκτρονικές υπηρεσίες υγείας από το 1994, αρχικά ως συνεργάτης στο Εργ. Ιατρικής Φυσικής του Παν.Αθηνών, στο Ωνάσειο Κ.Κ. και το Υπερτασικό Εργαστήριο της Α΄ Π.Π. Κλινικής του Πανεπιστημίου Αθηνών. Από το 2003 έως το 2009 ήταν επιστημονικός συνεργάτης της Τηλεϊατρικής Μονάδας του Νοσομείου «Σωτηρία», η οποία βραβεύθηκε από την Ευρωπαϊκή Επιτροπή με το e-Inclusion Award 2008. Επιμελήθηκε την έκδοση «Τηλεϊατρική στην Πράξη», την οποία συνέγραψαν 42 επιστήμονες από την Ελλάδα και το εξωτερικό.
Ο Περικλής Γιόβας συνεργάζεται με το κέντρο Symmetria από το 2009.

Δερματολόγος

H Xριστιάνα Ιωσηφιδη γεννήθηκε στην Αθήνα και σπούδασε στην ιατρική σχολή του Πανεπιστημίου Αθηνών, από όπου αποφοίτησε το 1999. Στη συνέχεια ολοκλήρωσε την εκπαίδευσή της στη Δερματολογία στο Λονδίνο. Μετά την απόκτηση του τίλτου ειδικότητας παρέμεινε στη Βρετανία, όπου εργάστηκε για το NHS για δυο χρόνια, πριν επιστρέψει στην Ελλάδα.

Ανήκει στην Ιατρική Ομάδα της Symmetria από το 2008.
